Swings In Roundabouts
Chenin Blanc 2010
Margaret River, Australia

Colour: 3

Smell: 5 - A sweet smell with hints of citrus

Taste: 9 - BOOM! a massive hint of flavour but as your palate settles this is a smooth complicate wine an amazing wine. I’m only sorry I didn’t take more bottles home with me in my suitcase what a fantastic winery and the sparkling wines are even better.

Overall Score: 17/20

A stable on our wine rack…

Bons-Ventos, Casa Santos Lima 2009, Portugal

Price: £5

Available: @ Oddbins Portobello

This is one of those wines that just seems to go with everything, it’s an absolute steal, easy to drink and surprisingly good for the price. Some people may screw there noses up as it’s under a fiver, however if your that precious go for the bigger brother which is about £8.00 also amazing, and had Oddbins not ran out of it, this would have been a double review on both.

Little Yering Chardonnay 2009, Yering Station Yarra Valley, Victoria, Australia

With a lovely French Oak taste, Little Yering isn’t your typical Aussie Chardonnay. Unlike the mass produced much hated buttery taste people love to hate, Little Yering has a lovely subtle hint with a great smell of orange citrus mixed with the sweet hints of apricots. Your taste buds are met with a complex yet quaff-able tipple of Chardonnay. This wine would be a great pair with a spicy Asian, Indian, Chicken or Seafood dish, but it just as easily drinkable on it’s own.

Price: £8.50

Available @ Oddbins Portobello, and a great recommendation from the chaps at the little Elgin Crescent store.
